ACA FDCPA: Essentials for Collectors

Seminar Description:  Bridge the gap between understanding the law and applying it on the phone during conversations with consumers. This interactive, scenario-based seminar will help your collectors stay in compliance with the FDCPA in addition to understanding the consequences of FDCPA violations, responding to a wrong or third party, and avoiding harassment and other unfair practices.

What you will learn:
*    What are the consequences for doing something wrong under the FDCPA?
*    How should you respond to a wrong or third party?
*    How should you respond to a right party?
*    How do you avoid harassment and other unfair practices under the FDCPA.

How will you benefit:  Reduce your liability and risk by learning how to apply the FDCPA basics to your collection conversations.

ACA Certified Instructor: Harry Strausser III


Harry is currently the Corporate Vanguard for Eastern Revenue Inc., a highly regarded, progressive collection firm based out of Wayne, Pennsylvania.  He also holds the position of President of  Interact Training and Development where he coordinates the training programs of this educational subsidiary. Harry is active in the Mid-Atlantic Collectors Association where he currently serves as President, and ACA International, Inc., the association of credit and collection professionals, in which he is a senior Certified Trainer. He is a member of the International Fellowship of Certified Collection Executives and holds the Master Credit Executive distinction.  In 2010, he was one of the first business professionals in the industry to receive the Credit and Collection Compliance Officer designation.   He has served on the ACA International Executive Committee and held the position of President in 2004-2005.

Harry holds an MA in communication from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania and a BS in business administration from the same institution. He has served as a full-time adjunct professor for the Department of Communication Studies at Bloomsburg University where he taught interpersonal communication, public speaking, and corporate communication. He travels extensively across the United States and internationally during which he has conducted over 1000 educational and motivational programs for associations, private enterprises, conferences, and public seminar events.

Harry enjoys travel, music, working outdoors at his home, and spending time with his three golden retrievers, Tindaqwae (Tin- Dah-Quay), Ausha and Luna.
